Converting Ultrabay 2000 2nd HDD (SATA) to UltrabaySlim?

#1 Post by pkiff » Sat Feb 07, 2009 10:56 am

Has anyone tried using a SATA drive in a custom built 2nd Hard Drive adapter for the 600 series?

I've seen these 2nd HDD Adapters for the T series on eBay that allow those machines to use a SATA drive in that slot. Those drives use an Ultrabay 2000 format. I'm wondering if it is worth obtaining one of these and then trying to pull the electronics out and put them into an UltraBaySlim so that I can use a SATA drive in my 600X.

Any thoughts?
