600X Ultraslimbay battery won't charge individually?!?

#1 Post by joekker » Wed Jan 26, 2005 11:21 pm

Does anyone know if there's a setting in Windows XP that will allow me to charge the ultraslimbay battery? The reason I ask is that my main battery is about shot and that charging function seems to be ok but the secondary battery remains at zero percent charge. Hence I get a flashing yellow light and all of 5 minutes for mobility.

Thank you.

Maybe yoiu could remove the main battery? On the 600X (and 600E), the main battery charges first, UltraSlimBay battery second. Then the UltraSlimBay battery drains first, then the main battery. The batteries tend to equalize when the machine is in suspend mode.

There is no setting anywhere I can get to in order to change this behavior. A BIOS hack might do it, but no one has documented how. I would just remove the main battery.
