IBM ThinkPad T41 With USB Cooling Fan base

I have a IBM ThinkPad T41 and sometimes gets hot under the laptop and was thinking of buying a USB cooling fan base that sits under the laptop, like the X series ultrabase. How well does it work? and is it worth it? I use my T41 on the bed mostly since my IBM Netvista M41 desktop uses most of the desk space.
