IBM NetVista M41 6792

I have a IBM NetVista M41 6792 Desktop. I did search on how much RAM It can handle and came up with 1.5GB Max. Will a 1GB Stick work in this? or have to buy 2 512MB Sticks. I rather just get a 1GB stick to make it easier. Don't really care for the .5. It has 256MB right now installed.
