These often mentioned notebooks weren't available in the US, right? Where did everyone get theirs? Do they ever appear on ebay?

There was an S31 on Ebay yesterday. Sold already.
Dynamism.com imported the S30 to the US for a while, but since IBM (Japan) has discounted them, they are not available anymore (I asked them via email). I've never seen an 240Z on Ebay though.

What's the "best" or most popular S30/S31 configuration/model?
I looked through the HMM and it seems like only S30's are available with wireless. Is this true?

True. There were two versions of S30. One with wireless b and no Ethernet port, the other one had Ethernet port, but no wireless. Weird. S31 came with ethernet port but no wireless. But both machines have PC Card slot, so adding a WiFi (or an Ethernet) CardBus card is not a big deal. Check out the Japanese site for more info

Do they make these with an English keyboard or do you have to swap keyboards yourself?

I've heard that some of the S3x series were sold in Australia, and they came with English keyboard. But just like with other ThinkPads, the US keyboard can be ordered from IBM (the FRU is in HMM, S30/31 use the same keyboard), so you can swap it yourself.

Hi all,
Thanks for the keyboard part number. My s30 is fun to use with the Japenese keyboard as it gets a lot of comments, but an english one would be a little easier.
