I have a screen resolution problem with my old thinkpad and I would like a little help. The problem is the application I am running only displays at about 3/4 the size of the screen. It looks like the one in this video.

I am running dos 6.22 and a music program call "Adlibtracker2" and I would like it to run full screen if I can.

It is possible to configure screen resolution from Adlibtracker2's .ini file, here is the pertinent section

Code: Select all

screen_mode=0         ; program screen mode:
                      ;   [0] 90x30 text-mode (recommended)
                      ;   [1] 90x30 text-mode emulation (VBE 2.0 required);
                      ;          { 800x600 }
                      ; emulation is considerably slow-- it should
                      ; be used if you encounter any text-mode
                      ;       compatibility problems
                      ;   [2]    { 1024x768 -- full-view }
                      ;
                      ; NOTE: if possible, run the program under
                      ; Windows 9x/ME (properly installed display
                      ;             driver accelerates the emulation)
                      ;   [3] compatibility text-mode (...)
However when I choose options 1,2 or 3 and start the program I get an error reading
Graphics system fatal: VESA 2.0 required.
This is where I get a little confused. I would assume this means I need VESA 2.0 video drivers?

According to http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:760EL I have either a

"Trident Cyber9320 with 1MB" or "Trident Cyber9385 with 1MB" video card

Here begin my problems first I have dos 6.22 installed how would I go about working out which of the two video cards I have? second does anyone know is these two cards are vesa 2.0 compatible? lastly I haven't been able to find drivers at all.

I appreciate this is a fairly lengthy request but thanks for reading and any help would be most appreciated.

Edit:I found this site "http://video-drivers.com/companies/1072.htm" but the drivers all appear to be for win95 or above
