Hi, I am new here.

Recently I started collecting old Thinkpads (I collect older computers in general) and was wondering if there is a swaplist for Thinkpad collectors. The other IBM made computers I collect would be the PS/2 line (Models 60, 65sx, 80, 95)

Currently I have a 760CD, 765L, 755C, 755CD, 760EL, 760ED, and just got in a 365C.

Ebay is fine for parts machines, but where do you get the little stuff like an eject button for a floppy that is missing it or case parts?

Seems like thinkpads were made rather well compared to the vintage equipment I used back in the 90's that would have fallen apart by now.

I also love the 760. My first TP was a 760 XD, and I still have some others and an assortment of parts, assemblies and accessories for it and other 760s. I might be liquidating much of it later this year depending on room.

Currently looking for:

HD+ tray and floppy for a 365c (my floppy works but is missing the eject button plastic)
Ram cover for a 760 series, and a left latch to secure the keyboard.

How hard to find are the A/V cables for the 760cd and 755cd units?

The AV cables shouldn't be too hard to find; just search on eBay. I once found some at a flea market, lol.

I have a RAM cover if you want it... In fact, I have an entire 760C if anyone wants it. You'd probably have an easier time finding a replacement floppy drive than you would just getting the eject button.

The older ThinkPads aren't without their flaws though they do seem to age well. The 360 (dunno about the 365) has pretty easily breakable hinges and the 760's keyboard keys get stiffer to the touch the more you use it. The LCDs used on the 760s were absolutely top notch; I rarely see dead pixels on 760s and the backlights seem to age pretty well.

Anything ever engineered has it flaws, some of which show up over long periods of use. The problems I see with the 76x series is the finish gets messed up over time, keyboards do get a little stiff, the plastics that hold the keyboard down break, and the older cdrom drives die with age. I have a 760EL with a few dead pixels, but most of the screens look perfect and still are bright.
