I can get a 128mb Viking module for a few dollars.
AC80423
NEC chips
I heard about some modules not being compatible with ibm hardware, because they were high density...
Would this one work with my 390X?
I currently have the 64MB OEM one, and a 128mb kingston in it.
would this memory module work?

Re: would this memory module work?
Googling the Viking AC80423 part number, it seems like even the manufacturer does not have a good picture/description of the module:

The 390X requires PC100 (100Mhz) "low-density" SDRAM modules. As such, you can identify them by counting the number of individual memory "chips" that are on the board. For a 128MB module, there should be a total of eight (8). Most of what I can find about the AC80423 part number says that it's for "ACER Products" or that it's "proprietary". I'd say if the seller offers a money-back guarantee (and that you can trust it), then it might be worth gambling $5 or so and see if it works. Otherwise, look around for a 20L0255 FRU labeled module or bite the bullet and get a 33L3069 (256MB low density).

I'll just ask the seller for a picture then.rkawakami wrote:For a 128MB module, there should be a total of eight (8).
