760XD and FA410TX driver issue

#1 Post by BovineMage » Sun Aug 09, 2009 11:25 pm

I'm trying to get my 760XD internet worthy, but I've come up to a roadblock.

My current situation is that I'm trying to install the Netgear FA410TX PCMCIA LAN card, and I've downloaded the FA41V300.zip driver that's offered by the main Netgear website, and many, many other websites; however, when I run through the Windows 98 "detect hardware" procedure, it is unable to detect any drivers for the card, even when I point it towards the Windows 98 .inf file, etc.

At this point, I'm thinking it's because Windows 98 is recognizing that these drivers are for some other card, namely because the drivers are for the FA411 model (according to the .inf file in the Win98 folder).

So, right now, I'm trying to find older drivers for this card that are specifically for the FA410TX card for Windows 98, which has been something of a treasure hunt. I've only recovered a .dos file, which is the driver for MS-DOS.

Any suggestions/help/etc.?
