770Z Memory question

Hello All,
I just successfully upgraded my 770Z to a PIII 450 with a single pc100 128MB stick of memory. I have another stick of memory that is pc100 but Easy Setup keeps saying that it is a bad stick.

After this upgrade, will Easy Setup claim that every stick that is put into the slots are bad? I've seen other posts that most persons ignore it and run the extra memory. And the boot memory check says that the memory is ok.

Any help will be appreciated.

You do need to consider that you are running a PIII which has a 100mhz bus and PC100 RAM in a ThinkPad 770, two things this laptop was never meant to do. If you are sure the RAM is good, then I'd ignore the easy setup error because there is likely to be glitch somewhere in the computer because you are pushing that laptop to it's limit.

What you should do is put the questionable memory in the slot that is known to work and has good RAM and put the known good RAM in the questionable slot and see if the results are the same.
