Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to get more than 256 Colors on a ThinkPad 560 Type 2640-10U?

When set the colors to high color (16 bit), the screen becomes distorted. I installed the video display driver from the IBM web site and it didn't help. Any idea what else i can try?

Thanks in advance for your help!

My reasearch tells me this laptop has a DSTN type LCD display which only gives you 256 colors. Can anyone here confirm this? My reasearch tells me this is the case, but I would like to be 100% sure.

Thank you!

Correct, the 2640-10U has 11.3" SVGA color display / 640 x 480 or 800 x 600 256 simultaneous colors / Dual Scan / 30 to 1 contrast ratio.

James
