I have ZERO use for the miniPCI modem that inhabits my 570E. Has anyone successfully swapped out the internal modem for an Intel 2200BG MiniPCI or other miniPCI wifi card?

I've done it with a Broadcom card, but the Intel should work fine too. Finding a good location for the antennas was the hardest part.

Apparently the 570E is very picky with internal wifi cards. Ive heard the Intel cards DO NOT work. The Broadcom card does work fine as Ive tried it in mine but I gave up trying to find a place for the wires to go.

Not with later ones, definitely not with anything post-T23 without the BIOS hack, but they will work on older machines.

This has done OK in real world testing, not nearly as good as the factory, but OK none the less. very, very small overall.
