701C Virtual 800X600 Display

#1 Post by mhoit » Sun Nov 22, 2009 8:25 am

My original purchased 701C HD died and had to be replaced. I have installed Warp 4 back on the system, but the best video resolution I can achieve is 640X480X16. Any attempt to define 640X480X256 indicates the display is not capable of SVGA. I remember the machine was capable of display a virtual 800X600 display using the scrollbars and also more than 16 colors.

Is there a recovery option to restore to factory shipped state? As I remember there was not recovery media shipped with my original order.

I've been searching everywhere, and trying everything I recall from the hardware side. I've tried all of the C&T 65545 drivers I can find.

All ideas are welcome.

Thanks,
Mike H

Welcome to the Forum.
The 701C LCD is only capable of 640x480 x 256 or 226K colors.
OS/2 may not have the proper drivers.
The last 701C I fixed, had W95 and ran with at least 256 colors.
