600x boot problem

#1 Post by zaratin » Tue Dec 08, 2009 12:45 pm

I have two 600x with same error. I get the 161, 163 on boot, click OK in blue window and machine change window, I get 161, 163 errors again and freeze up.
I replacing CMOS and main batery and get same error again, CTRL+ALT+DEL, hold F1, but cannot reach BIOS screen, always same error. Any idea what this is?
With the best regards.

You should be holding down the F1 key while you turn on the computer. Otherwise you can't access Easy Setup on these older machines.

You have to set the date and time to get rid of the 161 and 163 errors.

Stupid question: did you plug in the new CMOS battery? If you did, maybe it's bad. If you have a voltmeter it should read over 2.9 volts.

Thank you for idea. I plug in the new CMOS litium batery CR 2032 and get on mainboard 3,1 V, but canˇt access Easy Setup to set date and time. Maybe BIOS not recognize my new batery and I always get dad batery erorr.
Perhaps is break between batery and cheap with ROM?
