770Z bios update and battery-again

#1 Post by bikereff » Tue Feb 22, 2005 12:39 pm

I asked this earlier and didn't get a response so I'll try again.

Is is possible to perform a bios upgrade without a good battery on a 770z?

Thanks

Should be possible to do the update with at the very least a battery attached to the system and the AC adapter plugged into the unit. The older machines used to poll for voltage on the main battery along with the adapter presence, but that changed.

Well, I tried to do the bios update and the machine still requested a charged battery. Anyone been successful performing an update with a dead battery? If so, how was it done?

Thanks.
