uses for 600E which won't boot

#1 Post by ieee488 » Sat Feb 06, 2010 5:18 pm

I bought a used Thinkpad600E which will not boot up.
Original thread http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=68162

It still would not boot up after disassembly.

Anyway, the LCD still looks good.

Any ideas on what I can do with this unit? fun project?

Sell off the good parts to others so they can fix up their 600 series machines? If it won't boot, it's not good for much of anything as a computer.

If it's still in visibly good shape, maybe a stage prop for a local middle or high school drama class? Otherwise, it's buy a known booting 600E system which has a busted screen or major case damage (just to scavenge the motherboard) or it's part out time :) ,
