I have a IBM ThinkPad 570 I got offline and was marked as parts/repair unknown if powers, untested.
I plug my AC Adapter in it and it turns on and loads to a Lock screen with 3 times to type a password. Can't even get to the bios page when I press F1. Still loads to lock.

I removed the CMOS battery and RAM plus main battery and still loads up to Lock screen. And no there is no way to get the password... Was bought in a lot on ebay. Still looks brand new, no cracks/scraches and nice bright LCD display.

Sorry, but what you are encountering is the supervisor password (SVP). It is the board's policy not to aid in the discussion of any method to circumvent security.
