I have a Transnote with bad Eeprom chip and have everything to solder a new one.
The problem is , it is quite hard to find a n Eeprom chip of a Transnote.
Is there another model which is build similar to Transnote and so i can use it's Eeprom chip for my Transnote ?
My second Question is:
If i will resolder new memory ram chips with more capacity instead ot the defould onboard ones, how much Mb can a Transnote max. have ?
Thanks for answers and advices.

Eeprom Chip of the Transnote similar with another Thinkpad ?
I cannot help with your EEPROM question. Remember that the chip must be programmed before the machine will boot. You will not be able to program it inside the machine, unless it is already programmed.
As for memory, it is likely that putting chips with more capacity will do nothing for you. For it to work, the board must have an extra address line or two already routed to each chip. (That's the hard part!) The BIOS must also be able to recognize that extra memory. (That part's easy if IBM wanted to do it.)
No one has every tried either procedure and posted results. I'm eager to read yours though.
