600E, memtest86 hung (Unexpected Interrupt-Halting) *PIC*

Hi!
I have working ibm thinkpad 600E (no any modifications/upgrades).
I use Linux Debian on it (Squeeze).
I use it rarely. It is stable. I do not remember that it hung.
It is 128Mb RAM in it (32 soldered, 32 pc66, 64 pc100).
Recently I decided to buy 128Mb ram memory stick. But
at first decided to check the current memory with memtest86.
I found that memtest86 always hung on test number #2 (moving inversions, ones & zeros)
with a error message: "Unexpected Interrupt - Halting CPU0".

It is at the beginning, about 10 seconds.
I tried removing all the memory, and test only the built-in 32MB, but with
the same results.
I tried to set a certain address ranges of memory to test only one of the installed ram sticks, but results was the same.
Another memory checking program (memtester) runs successfully. Memtester runs from Linux, and
it is not as powerful as memtest86.
If I enter the BIOS and run diag tests, the errors is not detected.
I run several stress test programs (cpuburn, crashme, stress), and they have worked successfully.
I can not understand why memtest86 always hung.
Is this a feature of this hardware, or it is some sort of malfunction ?
Does anyone saw the successful memtest86 results on this hardware ?
Thanks!
