I have a 760EL (9547-U4G) with a floppy drive only and running Windows 98. I have installed an Intel® PRO/100 LAN+Modem56 CardBus II Adapter and after installing the hardware, I get the following:
"This device is disabled because the the BIOS for the device
did not give it an IRQ (Interrupt Request) (Code 29).

You must en able the the device in the BIOS. See your
hardware documentation for details."

I get this for both the modem and LAN adapter parts of the card.

I have been unable to locate the user docs for the 760EL on
the IBM site, but the link is broken.

I am not familiar with the BIOS setup.

Most modern communications cards and devices are now sharing IRQ 11 in order to allow the IRQ system to be used with many devices. It may be your 760 doesn't provide for this - I can't remember. You may have "System Information" (Microsoft) on your computer, and it will show you the IRQ structure in the Hardware tree. ... JD Hurst

In the ThinkPad configuration utility, make sure that under the PC card settings, CardBus is enabled and on IRQ 11.

Not sure where I am looking.
This Thinkpad came with a US Robotics modem card which I disabled then replaced with the LAN/Modem card in the topic.

SHould I also deinstall the modem card ?

I thought doing the remove PCMCIA card thing would free up resources for the next card to be inserted.
