Upgrading i1200 from ME to Win2000...what to consider

#1 Post by MadeInJapan » Thu Mar 17, 2005 11:11 am

My friend has a i1200 (type 1161) with WinME. He wants to upgrade to Win2K-Pro. What are the considerations...any patch files or catches? It is suppose to support this OS, but we want to make sure before taking the plunge.

Then put the model no. in the lookup box and check for the latest W2K drivers, there's a bunch of them.

You can't "upgrade" from ME to Windows 2000. It's not supported and fails very very frequently. If you want to put Windows 2000 on there, be absolutely sure to do it as a clean install.

Thanks guys...think I got it. I'll do the clean install sometime next week when I have time.
