Awail back I was able to use a ThinkPad T20-T30 Drive Bay 2000 CD/RW/DVD-ROM Drive in my 1998 IBM ThinkPad 380Z CD Drive slot. I was thinking of testing out the newest ThinkPads T410's Blu-Ray Drive. Now does the new ThinkPads still use the T40-R50 port, and if not is there an adapter cover like the Drive bay 2000 has. and have to remove it? I liked how the ThinkPads kept with the same hardware through out the years atleast under the IBM name it did.

Will a ThinkPad T400-T410 Blu-Ray Drive work in my ThinkPad T60?

According to this:
http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/UltraBay , the answer would be "no". The T4x0 uses a Serial Ultrabay Slim interface, while the T6x uses an Ultrabay Slim. The Compatibility Matrix table shows you which Ultrabay devices work in which Ultrabay slots.
