Re: Thinkpad 600X ...Errors
Start with replacing the CMOS battery, that one is definitely dead.
Most, if not all of your errors will be gone after that (and setting date/time).

Re: Thinkpad 600X ...Errors
Mirka,
You've probably already looked at the error code listing here:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... wik-3sr4pw
This page suggests an issue with your EEPROM: "178: EEPROM is not functional." And IBM's recommendation is to replace your motherboard.
Several of your other error codes aren't in the list above. And the last one (0163) usually just means you should replace the CMOS battery as RealBlackStuff suggested.
I don't have any suggestions, but thought I'd send along a link to the error code listing in case you hadn't already looked at it.
Edit: I just double-checked and the Hardware Maintenance Manual actually contains a couple additional error code explanations that don't appear on the page linked above.
----
193
RF Antenna has been
removed.
1. Type the correct
supervisor password
at the password
prompt.
2. Reseat the RF
Antenna to the HDD
cover.
----
194
The computer is carried
through the portal gate.
1. Type the correct
supervisor password
at the password
----
188, 189
BAD EEPROM CRC #1. An
incorrect checksum of the
EEPROM is received.
1. System board.
-----
All roads seem to point towards replacing the motherboard/system board.
Phil.

Re: Thinkpad 600X ...Errors
Thanks very much for your help.
600X has no WI FI just a 56k Modem.
A fully functional 600X is at Ebay. de for abt. 60 $ so for me it does not pay off.
I would make more money ...going to SUPERMARKET and fiilling shelfs.
I think, I will offer it to an enthusiast who likes to disesamble it, taking the good parts for repar.
Best Regards Mirka
