TrackPoint, SelectaBase 600 and Windows XP

I have a 600X running Windows XP Pro and a SelectaBase 600 connected to a KVM via a video cable and two PS/2 cables, to share uhm... Keyboard, Video and Mouse with two other computers.

Whenever I hot-plug or hot-unplug my 600X into the selectabase, the TrackPoint stops working until I suspend and re-awaken. This is with the TrackPoint set to AutoDisable in the ThinkPad Configuration Utility.

This is not a big deal, but I would like to know if this is normal behavior, or if anyone has a workaround... or if it works in another OS like Linux.
