1.) CMOS battery connector is same as TP600E. Can I use a TP600E CMOS battery instead?
Not a big deal, but just wondering.
2.) How do I tell which version of BIOS I have and will I be able to update the BIOS without a floppy drive?
3.) The hard drive is either bad or has been wiped clean; looks I need a Torx wrench?
4.) In relation to #3, does this unit boot from NIC?
received 701C; a few questions
Re: received 701C; a few questions
Nevermind, this laptop is junk.
On further investigation, I saw evidence of spilt soda pop inside the unit. It was all around the hard drive cage. Had much trouble pulling it out due to the sticky residue.
Also the seller or someone tried using chemical cleaner on it. I saw residue in the back-up battery compartment connector.
