#1 Post by NightG » Fri Mar 25, 2005 1:27 am

Does anyone have diagrams to show how to take the case of the older thinkpad 760's apart?

Look in the forum's FAQ or on the internet for the IBM Hardware Maintenance Manual. That should have everything you need.
ThinkPad T60: 2GHZ CD T2500, 3gb RAM, 14.1" XGA, 60gb 7k100, Win 7 Ult
Latitude E7250: i5 5300U 2.3ghz, 12gb RAM, 12" 1080p touch, 256gb SSD, Win 10

I had a problem finding this on IBM website a while back... For some reason they've wiped the 760 series out. hopefully this works

I use the 380 series for looking up a lot of my stuff.

Good luck!!

Yea, it's a shame. I think the 760 series is just too old at this point, or something, but IBM sure has taken a lot of the information about it away, or hidden it really well.

I checked out that link you sent me, concerning the 380 series. It looks like some things are close, but most aren't. The bottom of the 760xl's look different, there are no memory or battery covers, it looks like I've gotta pop up/off the keyboard to access anything inside. The screws are not the same on the 380 series either, so it's of no use to me for the 760xl.

I did manage to get WinXP installed on a 760xl ... but the cardbus is picked up and everything, but doesn't seem to allow cardbus cards. I seem to remember reading something about this being a common problem elsewhere. Any ideas?

If you download the file "vol4hmm.pdf " on that linked page the HMM has some info on the 760 series as well...unless they've changed it. There should be some good stuff on disassembly there
