770z Recovery disks and memory question

#1 Post by klkoehler » Sun Apr 03, 2005 2:40 am

My system came with the NT 4.0 recovery disks, but before acquiring this one I met someone selling a 14" screen 770Z with a 2000 pro recovery disk. Upgrading from NT4 to XP works but leaves some old stuff - that takes alot to figure out what can be safely upgraded or removed. I'm curious if anyone has a 98,98SE,or 2000 770Z recovery set I could get a hold of. I have a recovery set for either 755CD or 760XD that had an option to install either 95 or OS2- not sure if it was OS2Warp. Anyone know of any other models that might have came with OS2-/Warp recovery sets? Or know if other models i.e. 600 disks would work?
The memory question I have is- To upgrade the memory- will it be compatible with my stock processor- the PII366. For the 100ns sodimm, Can 1 piece of ram be used of 256 for 288 max or will two be required? Or as someone has mentioned in the sticky thread - 2 256 megs for a 544 max- or was the max still supposed to be 512?
Thanks very much for any clarification
