Removeable(?) Drive

#1 Post by Max Lynn » Wed Apr 06, 2005 4:39 pm

I have a 600e which I need to install Norton AV and Zone Alarm on. When I run the install for either program I always get a message indicating that I cannot install these programs on a "removeable" drive. I am trying to install them on the C: drive, which is the only drive on the machine (BTW, its a 20 Gig drive, probably updated from the original). When I examine the "properties" of C:, it says that the drive type is removeable. Why? And is this what NAV and ZA look at to issue the refusal to install? How can I change this, or is there a work-around? Thanks for any help.

I have no idea how to fix this... but it would help other experts if you tell us what operating system you're running.

It seems to me that in the properties for the disk drive in device manager in some older operating systems, there was a check box to make the drive a "removable device", but I'm really reaching back into dark unused territory in my brain here.
