#1 Post by Ken91 » Wed Apr 06, 2005 7:29 pm

Hi everyone,
I have a 1200/1300 thinkpad and now it powers on but with no display. I pluged in an external monitor and starts up so the mainboard must be good! When the laptop starts the lcd turns white but no image! I've tried adjusting the brightness but no hope. I think the lcd works too because it turns white after system turns on but don't know exactly what happend. Would someone please help me sovle the problem.
THANKS

Try going

www.ibm.com.au

then clicking on "support & downloads"
then use search box for "1300 maintenance manual"
or whatever model computer you have.

Look up "LCD" or "screen" in the contents and go from there.

Sounds like you either have an unseated and/or bad LCD cable and/or a bad inverter.
