older games on thinkpad edge ?

I am thinking of buying a thinkpad - smaller ones 12". I got an alienware, but older games just dont run on it.
Has any tried doom 3, quake 4, age of empires II on new edge ? Any problems issues, multiplayer/lan works ?

Hello fellow thinkpad owners. On my W520 thinkpad frame rate in World of Tanks would drop form 120 fps to ~30 fps, and then come up again back to 120...
