I just got an Edge E530....waiting for delivery..

been looking at some 64gb - 120gb mSATA cards to upgrade with
i'm already aware that it's SATA II, but I have a couple o' questions..

1. am I going to experience trouble if I get a SATA III
2. if I am able to identify the mSATA as an OS drive, can I partition it
and address the extra 64gb(and maybe more) as a SSD cache ?

3. Is it possible to put the 1600/900 monitor from the T530 inside
this, or will it just not fit? or possibly something to do with the
non-NVIDIA optimus connection?

- I have seen other Intel HD4000 notebooks with even better resolution

1. SATA III works great on SATA II

2. No. If you were booting off the SSD, then you would not need a caching drive. The point of SSD caching is to reduce the delays caused by traditional spinning drives. If the OS and program files aren't on a spinning hard drive, then it is already cached, so to speak.


I do not know the answer to the other two questions.
