SSD in E430

#1 Post by funkyketchup » Tue Nov 20, 2012 9:27 pm

Just ordered E430 with i5-3210 and Win8 this morning, but it didn't give me an option to add the 16GB SSD. Is it b/c i chose Win8? Can i add a SSD later on or do i need to replace the hard drive to a hybrid or SSD?

If you have an open mSATA slot, then you can add it later. Otherwise, you would replace the hard drive. I would skip the hybrid drive, it is not all that great. I have the Momentus XT. Putting an SSD in the main hard drive bay and then putting your HDD in an ultrabay adapter is the popular method, since DVDRW drives are rarely used by most users anymore.
