lenovo edge and gobi2000 un2420

Hi everyone, I'm new here but it's a great place!
I've a lenovo edge series 031949G and I know that for mobile broadband my pc needs a gobi2000 by qualcomm. But on lenovo's site it is very expensive!!
On the internet I discovered another model of gobi2000: the un2420 and I think that it works only with HP. But I read in this forum some solutions to this problem, someone has working un2420 on an edge series by lenovo? or anyone know what I can do helping me?
