What's the model number of my laptop??

Hello,

Sorry for the stupid question, but I've forgotten the exact model name of my thinkpad and nothing is written on it!
Is there another way to find out?

Also, my integrated camera has stopped working after a windows update (I think)
Has anyone else had this issue?
How could I solve this?

Thank you for your advice

Welcome to the forum, Altar! :)
Thinkpad model number must be on the bottom casing and look like this:

TYPE 7661-12U

This is just an example. You can also look at lower left or lower right corner of the LCD panel (screen) or status bar below the screen.
If you can post a picture, would help greatly to identify it :)

Welcome to the Forum.

Go into BIOS (press F1 immediately at boot-up).
You will see System-unit serial number followed by a bunch of numbers and letters.
The first seven characters are your TYPE (a.k.a. MTM) and split up in e.g. 2366-27U, the next seven characters are your laptop's Serial number, to be split up as e.g. L3-H2034.
Write down the MTM and check it using the MTM link at the top of this page.

Post your MTM here, once we know it, we can help you better.

Thanks for the replies,

I finally found the tiny model number written black on black: E540
I suppose that E stands for edge, so I will post about my camera problem in the other forum...
