Thinkpad E570 - seem to have dropped OneLink dock support.

#1 Post by bblake » Mon Feb 20, 2017 7:09 am

I was just looking at the E570 on the Lenovo UK website. This looks a decent entry level business machine and the ability to run from the SSD (and also have a separate hard drive if required) apparently leads to really good performance - there are some excellent performance reviews.

I was trying to advise on possible laptops and the E570 seemed an option. It has other great features like the Full HD IPS screen.

I was asked about docking. There appear to be no docks (apart from USB docks) available. The previous E series models could be docked with the OneLink dock, but this no longer appears an option with the latest E series models. Anyone know why? I did hear of problems with the Onelink dock, so maybe this option is dropped. I've seen one in operation and it seemed quite a good facility.
Regards,

Brendan Blake.

OneLink docking was dropped, because it is being replaced with Thunderbolt 3 and USB Type C docks.

E470 and E570 only feature USB Type C in certain configurations.
