Ultra-Nav driver doesn't install

On my Thinkpad E540 (Windows 7, 64bit) the Touchpad together with the Synaptics Drivers used to work just fine. I now may have accidentially deleted a drivers folder or the last Windows Update crashed something driver related. Anyway, the Touchpad don't work properly anymore which is why is decided to uninstall the Trackpoint Driver. Next step is to re-install which just doesn't want to work. I tried to install the Trackpoint Driver but it always said that the installation failed. I tried this with different drivers (also the Ultra-Nav driver), tried to install via the System Update, in Safe Mode and in the device manager. It always says that the installation failed.

Does anyone know what to do?

Go here to download the latest Synaptics driver: http://synaptics.com/resources
Uninstall your touchpad driver from Device Manager (incl. delete option if available) and reboot.
Install the above driver.
Better now?
