You can count me as another satisfied user of the Edge. For me, it offers very good value for the money. I really resent the Edge forum being located under the 'non-ThinkPad Lenovo notebook' category. The Edge is much better than machines that are located under the 'ThinkPad hardware' category.

That is strange. I think honestly it is just the off-color edge that causes such snobbery. Meanwhile, the X100e, which comes in "Heatwave Red" and also doesn't have the Thinklight, is a Thinkpad, apparently. :)

Count me as another satisfied (second) user. I sourced a red AMD edge for my wife, and we like it a lot. Really solid (my t60 is creakier), lightweight, lovely keyboard, bright screen. Battery life could turn out to be a fly in the ointment, we haven't got a measure on it yet, but that's the risk we took over the Intel version.

It seems rather ridiculous, childish even, that the Edge is listed as "non-Thinkpad".

I just purchased the 14 thinkpad edge here at bestbuy. They only have the glossy casing, I wanted the matte - bummer. The reason I bought it at bestbuy is because of its configuration. It runs with iCore 3, win 7 professional, has 500gig of HD, 4gig of RAM, DVD/burner, backlit keyboard and the trackpad/ball for only $670. If I purchased it at Lenovo, the configs will be less and therefore more expensive in case I wanted to upgrade any.

SO far, I like everything about it, except for the case. I will actually return/exchange this edge tomorrow because I saw a line/slight bump on the casing and around the camera, the bezel is not flushed. Also, the battery indicator fluctuates and not consistent.

I am thinking I may have gotten a defect edge, but nevertheless, I still like it. I'll be getting my replacement tomorrow and I hope the quality will be better.
