Boot question (EDGE 13 v2)

Hello,

I and my wife consider buying a ThinkPad EDGE 13 V2 to replace our A31 and T40.
As the EDGE 14 model is not offered in the Netherlands and we think the 15,6 inch model is too big for us, we consider buying the 13 v2 model.
However, this model comes without a built in CD/DVD player.

I happen to own a TP 240X as well and this model can only boot from selected IBM external USB CD drives.

How about the EDGE 13?
Will it boot from any USB CD/DVD player or only from the Lenovo USB Portable DVD Burner (43N3264)?

Second question:
The EDGE 13 v2 model is just announced in the Netherlands (since October 18th on the website of some suppliers). Lenovo no: NV322MH. Some websites say that this model comes with Windows 7 Home Premium while others say it comes with Windows 7 Professional. The information on Lenovo's website (PDF) is general and says the EDGE models support Win 7 Home Basic, Win 7 Home Premium and Win 7 Professional. Can anyone tell me which version of Windows is delivered with this EDGE 13 v2 model?

Third question:
The NV322MH comes with the six (instead of four) cells battery with an indicated battery life of 5.2 hrs (3.4 hrs for the four cell battery). Any experience if 5 hours can be expected in normal use or is it (far) less?

Dunno. But why do you want to boot from CD if you can simply transfer the CD to a bootable USB stick?

Do not buy an Edge with AMD proc. The Intel has a much better battery runtime.

My Intel Edge 13 is advertised with about 8 hours of battery life and I get about 4 hours out of it when watching movies accessed over WiFi with VLC media player on Linux. I guess with WiFi and Bluetooth disabled, doing office work, it could actually reach 7-8 hours.
