Hi, I recently bought a new thinkpad edge 15'' laptop and it has an inbuilt webcam but I cant find the software to open and use it anywhere. No CD came with it and I cant find anything about it in the instructions can anyone please help me.

Load Skype or Picasa...they will activate your camera. If the camera does not turn on then you need to find the camera driver.

I downloaded Picasa from the net. It was only 13mb in size and it's quite user-friendly. Once you've set it up, the screen capture icon is situated in the top middle left hand side of the options bar, but beware when it activates -- you immediately see yourself in all your glory/nightmare.

I have just purchase a lenovo thinkpad edge 14. Here is my problem with the intergrated camera. My camera does not work. I have tried all the suggestions in several forums but none seems to work. Here are some of the solution I have tried but the camera still does not work.
I have downloaded easy capture from lenovo site for my thinkpad edge 14
I have downloade Skype
I have unintall the driver and reinstalled the driver for my computer

both the software above does see my intergrated camera but the camera does not seem to work. The camera does not show up on my device manager.. Any other suggestion

Try picasa.

I do have Picassa 3 on my computer. MY lenovo thinkpad edge 14 model is 0578CTO. When I open picassa I tried using the camera and all I see is a black screen when the camera opens up in the program. It detects the intergrated camera but i get no picture or video recordings

Try turning the camera on using the Function key allocated to it (F5).
Try running System Update (Lenovo's app) and let it check to see if the driver is missing. I couldn't get mine to work right with the default driver installed when I swapped from x86 to x64 Professional.
Finally, if all else fails, contact Lenovo for a repair/replacement. All Edge's come with cameras, so if yours is not working, it's an warranty issue.

I tried all the camera software easy capture from Lenovo and the others. I have hit the F5 key and still no go. I have updated the system Os and the computer . All the software indicates I have a intergrated camera. But none of the software works. My driver in installed I check my programs and the register keys. I tried Yahoo Messenger and it works there so It is not my Camera. Do I need to link my camera or adjust the register keys?

Call Lenovo service...
