Ram E420

#1 Post by Mentadentt » Mon Apr 18, 2011 2:37 am

Hello
I plan on getting an E420 and i want to upgrade the ram myself. Problem is i don't know which type is compatible with the E420. Can anyone enlighten me on which type i need? Any specific recommendations?
Thank you

The Service manual for the E420s (Note: a different laptop) states "4-GB DDR3-1333 SDRAM SO-DIMM" so I suspect that it would be similar for the E420. Note on the E420s you have to remove the keyboard to get at the RAM.

The E420 will take DDR3-1333 MHz SDRAM SO-DIMM (PC3-10600) modules. It has two SO-DIMM slots for a total of 8 GB. The only memory that i have tried is Kingston Value RAM, and it has worked well.
