hi thinkpad edge lovers.
i recently bought a Thinkpad edge 15 laptop ( intel p6100 core/2gb ram/500gb hdd) and an intel SSD 40GB. My query here is, if there are caddies (for the optical bay) for this model such as this http://tinyurl.com/6jrumao which "seems" to fit in the optical bay and it has the same connector as the dvd-rom has.

Thanks in advance.

The drives on the Edge are not modular. You could pull the drive out and the caddy may work, but you'll need to find a way to secure it to the chassis. Plus the Edge uses 12.7mm drives while the caddy you linked is for 9.5mm drives. There will be a gap between the top of the caddy and the top of the bay. Plus the gap for where the eject mechanism sits on the caddy. Good Luck.

thanks for you info FredGarvin.
My main concerne is if i find the right case , the idea of 2nd hdd will it work?
Also i think the 9.5mm is about the ssd's height and not for the caddy.Plz correct me if im wrong.

i just bought this http://www.newmodeus.com/index.php?main ... &cPath=2_7.
When i boot from the standard hdd (ubuntu) i can see the other hdd that i put in the caddy. The problem is that i cannot see it from bios. Therefore
i cannot install in this hdd another OS (dualboot).
Any solutions?

Thnx in advance

this one might be compatible. someone needs to send in a picture of the back of their DVD drive so they can verify if the connections fit. please email nandyv@newmodeus.com

(price is a little high just for a HDD caddy though
