LenovoReg.exe error upon booting new e520

Hi,
I get a an error sometimes when I boot,

"Lenovo Registration Has Stopped Working", and the error verbiage points to LenovoReg.exe.

It doesn't seem like a big problem, just an irritation. Any thoughts about the importance of this, and how I might be able to fix or get rid of it? I did some searching here and on Google, and didn't find anything clear.

Thanks very much, Dave

hi there

I never use any of those 'apps' ; and enfact I remove ALL of the LENOVO apps , EXCEPT : Power manager, FP reader and AIR BAG ( most all I remove via control panel)
most of all Thinkvantage apps = makes your laptop SLOW ; and never do any good IMHO...
even AC i remove; client security, etc etc ,,, are off NOT MUCH use in home use enviroments...

Hope this helps

Hi,
Thanks, it does help. With my other Thinkpad I did that, removing several of those things, such as the internet connection manager. I did have a look at Control Panel, interesting that so many of them are separate, I thought they were mostly clumped into bigger programs! I'll think over what to get rid of.

I would, if possible, like to actually know what this Lenovo Registration is actually for... does anyone know?

Beyond that, it would be great to have a list of the Thinkpad and Lenovo programs describing what each one does, there are so many.... if someone knows where I might find that, I would appreciate it!

Thanks again, Dave
