Happens a lot in the morning during the daily backup, which usually starts at 7:03am EST.
Forum blocks me completely from 7:03am till ~7:20am EST
Then access is partially available, sometimes quick, sometimes with waiting of nearly a minute, and it causes quite a few of those GET things till almost 9:00am EST.
That data center deserves some (or loadz actually) terrific kicks up its bum for being so irritatingly mean and slow...

That Data Center did get the kick...
Anybody notice the major improvement since 02/29/2016 during/after the daily backup around 7:00am EST?

The new color scheme has lower contrast between the text and background in the class="content" blocks.
And it's especially difficult to read the [ code ] ... [ /code ] blocks.

Can you disable the 'similar topics' view? It causes way too much 'necro-posting'.

Hi, I get this when following a "Notification" to a thread I've posted in. Not sure if its bug or if the new content has since been removed. Maybe a more detailed response might help, if that is the case.

Where are the "show new posts" (search_id=newposts) and "show your posts" (search_id=egosearch) buttons that used to be on top of every page? The direct links still work, of course, but I don't see the buttons...

Anyone notice now that many images won't load? (well I'm using Chrome right now)
Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

A few days ago I tried to access a file link in a thread and although was logged in, it asked for further login dets which I entered. It failed to recognise these and since then I have been unable to connect to the forum via devices connected to my router. As you can see I am at another ip address currently to send this post. So either my router has blocked me accessing thinkpads.com or you have blacklisted my ip or MAC addresses?? Can you help me as I reference the forum often in the course of running several Lenovo and vintage IBM TPads.

This forum only requires your UserID and password, it keeps you logged until YOU log out.
It never asks for further logins, so that must be a link to something outside the forum.

I am still at a loss to know what is preventing me connecting to the thinkoads.com through ANY of the devices connected to my Router. All are different setups = Android, iPhone, XP, W10, W7...

Give me a break!
You are complaining about a link from 2008!
The forum had different ideas in those days.

I wasn't 'complaining' - I was trying to get to the bottom of no longer being able to connect to the Forum immediately AFTER attempting that link. Also - I am undertaking a Legacy project and those old posts are essential still.

I have now changed back onto an old Router and the connection is achievable, so is a curious issue with the router, but I had to start my investigation somewhere hence my post.

Greetings. New user here. And I'm probably posting this in the wrong category, but what the hey...

The link to this pinned 'Report Errors' announcement was just above my problematic one. :-) And the author is the same...

In the pinned announcements at viewforum.php?f=61
There is a locked announcement dated Aug 05, 2011 and titled "Accessing documents from Lenovo's new Support site" viewtopic.php?f=61&t=98364

Which has slightly outdated links & information.

I'm researching for the 600x (I have a dozen... 2 on-line 24x7. They work great. )
And a T30 that should probably have a firmware upgrade. WiFi is problematic on W-XP without modern WPA passphrase capability. :-|
And I need a Windows-7 R&R disk/iso for a multi-boot system that refuses to load Windows (x..0255 if my memory serves.)

Sigh.

Thanx

/dave

Those (outdated) links are neither a bug nor an error.

If you want info about drivers, see our Drivers link at the top of each Forum page.
For manuals, there's also the HMM link.
For the T30 we have sub-forum: ThinkPad T20-T23 & T30 Series. NOT for T25-Retro
For older Thinkpads such as the 600X, we have sub-forum: ThinkPad Legacy Hardware
And for R&R, see the Marketplace Forum.
