Can one add a 2nd mSATA SSD to the X1 Carbon Touch?
X61s Win8 64 bit, 160GB Intel X25-M SSD

Nope, there is no slot that would allow an mSata drive. The only slot that is would be available is a mini slot for a mini WWAN card and currently there are no mSata drives that would even fit, let alone whether or not it would support the PCIE interface.

As for WWAN card, I found this PCI-e Half mini SSD:

But I'm not 100% sure if WWAN card has SATA driver.

I found many WLAN card that can fit into the WWAN slot. So, if WWAN slot has no mSATA support, we can try:
- putting WLAN half-mini card on WWAN slot. Since the antenna placement is similar to WLAN, there shouldn't be any signal impact?
- Put mSata SSD on WLAN slot. mSata has the same form factor as PCI-e if I'm not mistaken

I read it somewhere that all newer Thinkpad laptops has mSATA support on their mini-PCIe.

But as an example, X220.
