Hi all,
I recently received a Carbon X1 Touch. I'm tech savvy (apparently not enough), but for the life of me I can't figure out how to boot to USB. It had Win8 preinstalled. I can successfully get to the boot menu (F12), but I cannot see any of my USB drives (I've tried 3 different ones). I've tested these keys on another machine and they are recognized as a boot device.
I've tried disabling secure boot, and modifying every possible UEFI setting in the BIOS -- still, not showing up as a boot option. I've also tried both USB ports, and the USB dock.
Any tips on how to get this resolved? I must be missing something!
Thanks so much!
Carbon X1 Touch: USB Boot
Re: Carbon X1 Touch: USB Boot
Got it figured out -- not sure if this is the corporate build or the Lenovo default, but on the Boot list in the BIOS, it wasn't exactly obvious that if you scroll all the way down you jump into an excluded items list, and the USB device was on that list. Now, it shows up in the boot menu. Hope this helps someone in the future!
