Considering an X1

I don't believe I need all the newest features, just a more up to date processor and system than my X61s. Is this a good deal?

Any drawbacks that I should know about in the various models of this series? Thanks.

FYI, this eBay item is an X1 and not an X1 Carbon. The two models are very, very different. The X1 Carbon is thinner, lighter, faster, has a bigger and better LCD, etc. Unless you specifically want an X1, I'd hold out for an X1 Carbon.

Thanks for the info. Later I realized that was the reason for the lower price. The size and weight is one of the main factors for me. Actually I love the size and features of the x61s, but the later choices are limited to the larger screen or the wide screens which are too small for my purposes.
If only I could see the X1 to see if I could live with the extra size and weight, and if the speed increase over the X61s is enough.

Some other things to note about original X1 vs X1 Carbon:
Original X1 has built in ethernet port; Carbon you have to use a USB Ethernet adapter (not a big deal but some people don't like that).
Original X1 has potential for more storage space since it supports mSATA and a 2.5" drive. Storage also replaceable vs. being soldered to the motherboard on the Carbon.
The RAM on the Carbon is also not replaceable (soldered to the motherboard).
The screen on the X1 is OK. Has a huge bezel and is only 720p. Screen on the carbon is much nicer and resolution is higher.
The Carbon is lighter than the X1 and thinner.
