X1C Touch summer 2014 or wait?

My last two ThinkPads that stay with me all the time have been an X201T and an X230T. I'm about ready to upgrade, and I'm thinking the X1C Touch will be the way to go. The price will be close to $3000 with 4 year accident protection warranty, 500 gb SSD drive etc. I run Win Pro 8.1 Update 1 (x64) and Microsoft Office Home and Small Business.
Is the X1C Touch due for a refresh this summer? Is there anything better? X240 or replacement? ThinkPad Yoga Pro 2?
My uses include managing my life including browsing, Office (in Outlook), keeping all my personal files close at hand, some gaming (Microsoft Flight--nothing more demanding), and linking to my medical office's electronic health records with remote desktop connection.
The X1C Touch will help me with linking to my office electronic health records because the measly screen resolution of the X230T doesn't show me enough at one glance. For the most part I use a T520i with a 1600 x 900 screen for linking to the electronic health records.
Quality and function is more important than price to me. I WILL MISS CAP LOCK AND I WILL MISS NavPad mouse buttons on my next laptop.
