X1 Carbon - Brightness not so bright?

Intel 8086 0A16, the brightness is maxed out- but the screen is somewhat dim. Changing the driver to the Microsoft basic display adapter and back again gives me full brightness, but it's gone again on next reboot. What gives? Any thoughts?

Where can I find those? Everything is fully up-to-date via Windows update and Lenovo's "system update".

You can go directly to Intel's website and find the drivers there.

Didn't work. It's very strange. Even if I slide the brightness meter down to 90% and back to 100%, it's dimmer than it was previously. The only way to get it to full real brightness is to reinstall the driver every time I open my laptop and don't touch the settings.

It reminds me of how the "real" max volume on android phones is limited, despite showing 100%.

People from the future: The solution was to disable Adaptive Brightness.
