Hi!

If travelling and something bad would happen to laptop, it would be incredibly good to be able to have the correspondent of a SATA to USB cable, for the PCIe SSD in the X1 Carbon 2015.'

Does that exist? How do you do this?'

Thanks

I believe the X1 Carbon uses an M.2 2280 drive (80mm long). Search for M.2 (or NGFF) to USB adapter.
Might need separate adapters for PCIe and SATA based SSDs.

e.g.:
"Bplus PCIe M.2 SSD to USB 3.0 Adapter/Enclosure

Use this enclosure / adapter to turn any 42/60/80mm PCIe M.2 SSD module (Key B or B+M) into an external USB 3.0 portable storage device.
. . .
Compatibility notice: This adapter is for PCIe M.2 SSD's only. If you have a SATA based M.2 SSD like the Samsung PM851 M.2 or Crucial M550 M.2 SSD, then you'll need the alternative Bplus SATA M.2 to USB adapter / enclosure."
