Lenovo X1 Carbon Screen fuses

Hello,
Unfortunately I dropped a cup of coffee on my X1 Carbon which was purchased in late 2012. Unit was running when I dropped the coffee. After drying and cleaning it is running again but screen appeared blank. The laptop works well and I can use it through display port and an external screen.
I tried replacing the LCD screen but situation has remained the same. I have also replaced the screen cable but again no luck. I have noticed that if I look at LCD at a certain angle I can vaguely make out what appears on the screen (can't actually read it but I can see something).
I am assuming that that motherboard has some backlight inverter and related fuses. Maybe fuse or inverter has blown on motherboard.
Where do I find these? Are they on the underside of the board? Roughly where?
Should i be looking for something else?

Thanks

Arthur

Welcome to the forum.

I don't have an X1 Carbon, but backlight-fuses are usually near the LCD-cable connector on the motherboard.
They are tiny though, about 1.5x4 mm or even less, usually green or brown with silver-colored ends, having only one letter (most often a P) printed on them.
Measure them with a multimeter, and solder any replacement on top of the old one (piggyback), easier than full replacement.

Thanks for feedback. I have already looked in the LCD cable area. I will have another look.

Hi,

Did you fixed this problem.
I have replaced my screen and now I can see my backlight is not working.
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Second Edition.

If I replace the broken screen, I cannot see anything...
